The first
diagnostic tests developed by Bioclone were for pituitary hormones and the
pregnancy hormone hCG. These hormone tests still form the basis of the
product range which includes a number of tests for pregnancy, fertility
monitoring, tumour markers, thyroid disease and growth factors.
Bioclone’s
product range has expanded further over time and now includes allergy
diagnostics, tests to monitor iron metabolism, neonatal screening assays for
TSH and IRT, reagents for cancer diagnosis and hepatitis tests.
Additionally, tests have been developed for anti-Chlamydia pneumoniae
IgG, IgA and IgM and anti-Chlamydia trachomatis IgG and IgA in human
serum, and measurement of urinary iodine in human samples.
In
addition to marketing its own immunodiagnostic kit products, components,
related raw materials (eg. monoclonal antibodies) and contract services,
Bioclone acts as the Australian distributor for some selected overseas
companies (Agency lines).
Recognising the market requirements for non-radioactive diagnostic tests
which are fast, easy-to-perform and able to be automated, Bioclone developed
the ELEGANCE ELISA range – which incorporates one of the most advanced
signal amplification systems. This system also uses the convenient
break-a-part, down to a single well, 96-well microtitre plate format and
ready-to-use colour-coded critical reagents.
Other
features include:
n
A wide range of
tests, as instanced above, with long product shelf-life when manufactured.
New tests are added regularly.
n
Superior
sensitivity due to the in-built amplification system.
n
Assay performance
of the same high standard that has been a feature of all Bioclone products.
n
Assays which are
highly specific and fast due to monoclonal-polyclonal antibody selections.
n
Adaptability to
open automated systems.
n
Flexibility to
run small or large volumes of tests with ease.
n
Use of kinetic or
end-point readings. |
